How To Grow On Social Media
Tips for growing your community on social media and how I did it.

Consistency. That's what it all comes down to. It doesn't matter if you post once a month or three times a day, just stay consistent and work at a pace that works for you.
I only made about 200 followers in the first two years of me posting my art on Instagram. Why? Because I was barely posting and I was posting randomly, never consistently. It wasn't until the beginning of 2024 when I decided to lock in and post consistently, posts and reels. I made 30k followers in one month. 10k in one week. Mainly because I was being consistent.
Another tip, hop onto trends. In July of 2024, the month where I gained 30k followers, I was posting reels with trending sounds constantly. I had a time where three reels in a row received over 2 million views each, one with 5.4 million views. They all were using the same trending sound and were simply one second long each. Just a picture of my art. Those three reels got me 30k followers and I only grew from there.
There was another time where I was posting consistently and posting using trending sounds and reel after reel kept blowing up getting hundreds of thousands of views each. IT'S CONSISTENCY, PEOPLE. Post consistently and you will see growth over time. And post what people want to see. Find your community of people. For me, it's K-pop fans, mainly Stray Kids fans. For you, it might be people into gardening, or scientists, or food lovers. Whatever it may be, make content for them and they will come to you.
Here's a couple of other more technical tips. Hooks are very important. The first three seconds of your reels or video are what keeps people or pushes them away. With doomscrolling being a trend, you need to catch people's attention within the first couple of seconds or spark their curiosity so they stick around. Think about what you think when you're doomscrolling and what catches and keeps your attention when a new video pops up. And things like the quality of your videos and content can affect your growth, but in my experience, it hasn't been a huge factor.
Most of all, be yourself and enjoy the process. Do not compromise who you are to grow. With my YouTube channel, I've found that many people enjoy my content and stick around because I am genuine and they can relate to me. Be you. Even if you think you're awkward or cringe or whatever, be all of that. People love authenticity.
Also, haters are gonna hate. That's sadly how the world works. I've dealt with it, but I haven't let it stop me or stunt my growth. Those people are either projecting, jealous, or have nothing better to do with themselves. Social media has gotten to the point where people say whatever comes to their mind without thinking. Remember, these people don't know you personally, they only know a fraction of you, so they don't have the right to judge you negatively. Keep your head up. Focus on the love, not the hate. I'm sure there will be a lot more love than hate. That's how it's been for me.
Be yourself.
Be patient.
Do not give up.
You will find your people. They are out there. Do not give up and they will come to you.
